Position Description
Dreamline Mentors provide social-emotional support and mentorship to students who are struggling to meet their academic and personal goals. Each Mentor works in their assigned school (locations are in the Metro or Greater Minnesota) with a cohort of 20-25 students to develop meaningful relationships and motivate students to set and achieve their personal goals.

Role and Responsibilities
Mentors identify individual student needs and tailor their approach, incorporating strategies for racially and ethnically diverse students. This is accomplished through mentoring, tutoring, classroom support, expanded learning opportunities, after-school support, and more.

The Dreamline Mentor is also responsible for ensuring the highest quality of program delivery at their school site through reporting accurate data, building strong relationships with school staff and teachers, and engaging families as needed.

Dreamline Mentors will also participate in other Sanneh Foundation programs or events as needed, including monthly professional development and fundraising events. Lastly, Mentors will have the opportunity to attend professional sporting events and cultural events.

Academic Support

Develop a meeting schedule with the mentee and plan at the outset of the program.
Help mentees establish clear, achievable goals and develop action plans to reach them.
Offer support with studies, homework, and test preparation.
Help mentees understand course material, identify areas where they need improvement, and develop effective learning strategies.

Personal Development & Promoting Emotional Well-Being

Create a safe, supportive environment for mentees to express their concerns and anxieties.
Help mentees develop mechanisms for stress and anxiety and connect them with appropriate resources if needed.
Help mentees develop essential life skills, such as time management, communication, and problem-solving.
Provide guidance on social skills and navigating interpersonal relationships.

Commitment and Professionalism

be an active listener and pay attention to both the verbal and non-verbal cues of their mentees, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
Sanneh mentors should be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Required Education & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
At least one year of full-time work or volunteer experience
Passion for and interest in working with youth
